What to do with Chocolate on a Hot day!?

Okay, it's 102 degrees out in southern California and I'm melting. So what do you do with a chunky bar of dark chocolate? I like to stick it in the fridge just long enough to get firm...or if I really want it crunchy hard it'll go in the freezer for a bit.

I'd skip the drinking hot tea with it, though. And I actually find that hard to do without. So what could be a better substitute? How about Thai iced tea or iced coffee?

Course those drinks are a bit on the sweet side for my taste, but they're a nice contrast and complement to the bitter dark I go for.

One can never be too rich or too poor to go without chocolate. Even on a hot day.

Money is no object when it comes to this necessity...or obsession, as others would put it. heheh...

Better To Light Candles

Merle Shain

It is better to light candles
than to curse the darkness.

It is better to plant seeds
than to accuse the earth.

The world needs all of our power
and love and energy,
and each of us has something that we can give.

The trick is to find it and use it,
to find it and give it away.
So there will always be more.

We can be lights for each other,
and through each other's illumination
we will see the way.

Each of us is a seed,
a silent promise,
and it is always spring.

Last night we celebrated my young cousin Betuu's 14th birthday. Technically he's my brother-in-law's nephew...if anybody knows how our connection is termed genealogically, I'm curious to know.

He had quite an adventurous journey traveling alone from Palau to California which took over 3 months...and no, he didn't paddle his way here. But it's pretty commonplace for folks on an airline buddy pass to end up with no available flights and get holed up in a city on route for days or weeks at a time. In peak season that could be months. In Betuu's case he got a flight from Palau to Guam in June then was held up there for the rest of the summer. Fortunately, a kid doesn't have to untangle all the knots and headaches of figuring out travel and housing arrangements so he was well looked after. Throughout those many days, the way was always lit for him.

So yesterday was a pretty special celebration for him. It's amazing how 1 person can unite people to a common purpose - family, friends, and strangers alike. Amazing how the love of a child reaches across the ocean and we can all share in that deep, profound love that connects us with each other.

With that in mind, I share with you an energy boost to fully embrace you with love, light and the breath of life, the true meaning of aloha. I gratefully and joyfully open my heart, mind, and spirit to the energy we share. Be passionate about your life, live your life with purpose and passion, and allow yourself to be present and experience joy in the moment.

Aloha pumehana (with blessings, love and affection),

Your cell phone is in your pocket.
He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags.

You talk trash about your 'buddies' that aren't with you.
He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.

You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls.
He patrols the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.

You complain about how hot it is
He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow.

You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong.
He doesn't get to eat today.

Your mother makes your bed and washes your clothes.
He wears the same things for weeks, but makes sure his weapons are clean.

You go to the shops and get your hair redone.
He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today.

You're angry because your day at work ran 5 minutes over.
He's told he will be held over an extra 2 months.

You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight.
He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.

You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday.
He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.

You roll your eyes as a baby cries.
He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet.

You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything.
He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remembers why he is fighting.

You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of men like him.
He hears the gunfire, bombs and screams of the wounded.

You see only what the media wants you to see.
He sees the broken bodies lying around him.

You are asked to do some thing by your parents. You don't.
He does exactly what he is told even if it puts his life in danger.

You stay at home and watch TV.
He takes whatever time he is given to call, write home, sleep, and eat.

You crawl into your soft bed, with down pillows, and get comfortable.
He tries to sleep but gets woken by mortars and helicopters all night long.

If you support your troops, send this to 13 people.

REMEMBER our Troops, and do not forget them LATER
Lest we forget -

From Steve:

Steve

The group began by honoring us as they usually do, but this time it was a bit different. They were honoring our travels throughout the Universe as universal beings of light. Their message began by telling us what it was like to be an empowered person in an empowered society. They made the analogy that living an empowered lifestyle was like being a boat on the water. You were not limited and could do anything at any time. But since responsibility is the balance to power, you automatically took responsibility for the wake the boat leaves behind. Life is a balance. Here they are saying it is a balance between knowing and using your own power, while learning to live in harmony with the other boats on the water. We are all becoming more empowered everyday. As we get used to our newfound power, we will only be able to use it effectively if we are aware of how it fits into the world around us. This is what they mean when they suggest that we make space for the other “gods” in our lives. Not only to make space for them, but to help them see their own powers.

They also went on to say that after we get used to how it works, we will learn to use this same wake in a positive way. We will empower others around us to create the path of least resistance. They said very clearly that “It is more possible now to lead fully empowered lives than ever before on Earth.”
Having said that they went on to let us know that this is happening today, and that our light’s own area is already becoming brighter.

They said we dared to walk up and light our candle from the fire of god to bring it to Earth. For eons of time, we hid that light or only let it out in certain areas. But now it is happening to all of us. Now it is time to find ways of shinning this light so we can all step into a more empowered lifestyle. This was a very empowering message to me personally, and it was also an example of how the group uses their wake in a positive way with us.

On another note I am happy to tell you that we have been working on something special that will come to fruition in the first 3 weeks in October. Lightworker Productions will offer an advanced level Triality activation. Designed specifically to elevate your vibration into passion, we will be offering it through internet conference seating offering some interactivity with attendees. The activation into Triality is in strengthening our conscious connection with our higher self and our own direct connection to home. Some of the days will be designed to talk about current events and specific growth challenges facing people right now. Many of the days will end with assignments and exercises. Each of the 9 conferences over 21 days will include 2 live channels (at least) from the group and all will be recorded. Attendees will have the opportunity to revisit any presentations missed but live attendance is encouraged as it will allow the interactivity and group energy that is intended as part of this very personal offering from the group. Watch your e-mail or Lightworker.com for an announcement in a couple of weeks.

Big hugs and have a great August!

Steve Rother

Greetings from Home.

Dear ones, you have traveled the Universe to gain certain attributes that you would always bring to the table wherever you were. Whatever you had to do, you would bring these attributes with you. You are carrying these different pieces of Home with you throughout many incarnations—not just on Earth—but throughout the Universe in the different places where you have played your games.

Like a Boat on the Ocean

Now it is becoming critical that you tap into these attributes once again. It is becoming more important not only for you, but also for the world around you. Let us explain. It is very simple to see that you are becoming empowered as a society once again. We say that because there have been empowered societies which have worked quite well on Planet Earth in previous times. One of the most successful was in the days of Lemuria, and the way things worked without rules. How did it work? How can it be that everybody understands and that everybody takes responsibility? In those days it was very simple. You viewed yourself as a boat on the ocean, and you could do anything you wanted as long as you were aware of and responsible for everything your wake did behind you. If you got going too fast, turned and created a wake that ended up affecting other boats, you would automatically take responsibility for whatever damage your path caused. What that did was make you aware that you had an energy field around you. We call this ‘making space for the other gods’.

When this connection happens, it naturally creates the path of least resistance toward whatever goal it is aimed. When you acclimate to this awareness you become hyper aware of the overall energy fields and how they are interrelated. This can be used in very positive ways. It can be said that you learned to control the waves and wakes to create something positive in your reality.

Up to this point in your evolution there have been very few empowered societies where you could use this knowledge consciously on a daily basis. But now happening on Earth, and for the first time it is possible for you to lead more fully empowered lives than you ever have before. That means being able to empower the people around you, as well as stepping into your own empowerment. There are difficulties with these roles, for humans are not accustomed to doing this. You are accustomed to hiring leaders and bringing in people to take care of things for you. As long as you followed the rules, you did not have to worry about what your wake or energy field may have caused as it went behind you. That is beginning to change, which presents a new opportunity for each one of you. That is what we wish to speak of this day, because it is very important that you see yourselves the way that we see you evolving right now.

Participant vs. Observer

Let us say there was a time that you knew you were going to come into Planet Earth. You were busy planning this stage, planning this life. You chose the right parents, and the right sister or brother, to learn the lessons that you needed to learn. You set up these opportunities and scripts for yourself. Then you came in and worked through them as each lesson appeared, yet not once did you realize that you could change at any moment. That is what is starting to take place now. You are beginning to understand that not only can you change your life drastically, but you can empower those around you to make your own path the one of least resistance. Whether that path is expressed in business, religion, spirituality or in daily life, makes no difference. The challenge is that you wanted to come here and bring something special from Home. You wanted to be a participant not an observer for most of you have been teachers and healers over and over throughout the lifetimes of planet Earth. Many of you would not be here if you did not have with a role to play in the shifting of humanity on a large scale in the direction of light. Many of you are here now to watch the critical mass be reached, as the inevitable opening between dimensions allows you to finally see some of the results of your own earlier work in all segments of humanity. It will activate the next level of personal power. The use of this new power is very magical, and yet very delicate. It has two sides. You can be cut by one side and served well by the other, at the very same time. So, you still need to find your balance within the new energy.

Lighting Your Candle From the Fire of God

Here is the biggest piece of the puzzle that we can tell you: You carry a special light from Home. It is yours and nobody else can carry this for you. You dared to walk up and light your candle from the fire of god. Then you brought it to Earth and have been so worried about that candle blowing out in the harshness of Earth’s turbulence. You worried about too many people seeing that candle and what they thought, so you learned to hide the brightest part of your light. You hid it so well that you could not even see it yourself. Now all of humanity is reaching a level to where you are starting to re-member that you each hold a part of god within you. To create empowered societies, each one must now offer his or her candle for the good of all.

You have something very special to give. So, you ask, “How do I do it? I did not study this. I did no preparation for this.” When suddenly there is a stirring deep within your heart…. That is all you need to set this creation into motion. The details were well hidden by your own design. Now it is time to re-member, and it starts with having that feeling. That is all that is necessary, because everything else will come back to you. You will re-member the times that you have done it before, and all of the information you have collected throughout the Universe is yours the moment you start creating a spot for it to re-turn. Set the intention to fulfill your purpose and everything else will start falling into place around you. It does not always mean that you have to spend every second of every day focused on your purpose. However, the more you can re-veal with your light, the more you can share that light with other people and the more comfortable you will be.

Allowing more of your light within the body will cause a natural increase of sexual energy in the physical body. The physical changes have already begun. You are not only gaining connections in the Pineal Gland and the parts of the brain that are starting to receive these signals, but through every other organ as well. Your bodies are starting to evolve at a very rapid rate now. The re-wire of the physical human is happening on an energetic level and on a physical level. It is very exciting, because it opens the door for you.

Making Space for Your Light in Your World

We also tell you there are several parts that are going to be more difficult for you now, with the biggest one being that there will be no more hiding. Your light is becoming too bright to hide, which is a good thing. You have come in with this incredible sensitivity, so the first thing you did was hold your light out to the world. You felt the effect of the light, took responsibility for it and pulled your light back. Your responsibility is to share the light, not how the light is perceived by others. It is intended to lighten your heart and to bring your candle from Home, sharing your truth. It does not necessarily need to fit in every other truth any more, because that is not the important piece. As you step forward it will require balancing your own ego as well. You used to be able to hide behind a large group of people that you were a part of, in order to be a part of something creative. But now, even if you are with a large group of people, the energy will be more focused on the individual and how that individual acts and reacts within that group of people. This will be the difference between what we have experienced on Earth up to this point and what you will now see as empowered humans create their lives on a conscious, daily basis.

So, be not fearful of your light. Know that it is not possible to blow that light out, even if you take it out on the windiest of days. That candle will shine within you for eternity, throughout infinity. It is your spark of god. Find whatever this is, look for it now. Focus more on the individual—not only yourselves—but your children. Look around and help empower the people where you work, in your family and everyone that you come into contact with. Now you can take the next step together. Yes, some of you have always been the leaders, and some of you have always been holding the door open saying, “Come on. You can make it! We can all go.” Sometimes you will not be trusted because you have been saying that for so long, but it does not make any difference. When you step in that direction now, it is no longer about you holding the door open for anyone else. It is about you stepping through the door yourself. It is about you daring to stand out there and say, “This is who I am. This is what I have. Judge me one way or another, it makes no difference. I am on my path, following my life’s purpose. And so it is.” That is what is taking place right now.

It is also going to mean shifting your own view of yourself a little. That has caused you great problems, especially among the teachers and healers in these rooms. You see how that light affects other people, and right away you have a tendency to pull it back a bit because of the glare from the light. That is not your responsibility. Your responsibility is to share your light in whatever way you comfortably can. That also means balancing your ego. Everyone is afraid of what happens when your ego becomes too inflated, because when that happens you cut yourself off from your source. It is easy for the deflated balloon to fall very rapidly and cause those problems, but that is not our concern for you here in these rooms. Our concern is for those of you who have too low of an ego, for those who will not stand up and say, “I have a candle of my own. I have something to share here.” Every person loses—including us—when you do not share your light from Home.

Technology is changing very rapidly in many ways. Books will probably be with you for some time, because you have such a love affair with the paper. Find ways of sharing and spreading this light, making it available to the people around you. Find ways of not only taking responsibility for your boat, your life and your direction, but also for the wake that it causes. Find ways of using that wake in a positive way and you will create an empowered energy field all around you. All it takes is consciousness and asking the question: “How can I do this?” We hope that this day we have not given you answers, but have helped you clarify your questions because you already hold the answers.

You have struggled many times to see yourself, not only on this planet, but throughout the Universe. Dear ones, if only you could see yourself in the way we see you, you would never doubt yourselves again. You would never hide that light in any way, shape or form. We hope that through our eyes, you can see even a quick glimpse of your own greatness.

It is with true honor that we address you, the Master Teachers of Planet Earth. We ask you to re-member only three things: Treat each other with the greatest respect. Nurture one another. Know that you are playing a beautiful game and try to play well together.

Espavo.

Balance of Reality

The year so far has been a whirlwind of events for all of us. We somehow agreed to live life in the fast lane, pausing only long enough to catch our breath. As a life traveler, I view these times as an adventure. I am an optimist but another perception would be complaining that there is not enough time. It really does depend on your thoughts creating your reality.

The universal creative law of mind creates for us according to our choices. Too often that choice is determined by emotional attitudes instead of thoughtful decisions. It is important to trust your inner voice, higher self, but don’t think spirit will pay your bills, that is your responsibility.

An example of this is when we hear so many people having grand dreams. The list is endless with our human emotional wants and needs. All of our hearts are filled with a burning desire but we are sometimes in the clouds of dreaming. It is important to have your dreams but it is also helps to have a balance of reality.

Steve and I began Lightworker almost fifteen years ago. Yes, our dreams continually come true with our work but understand that we have a balance of Lightwork and business practices. Magic cannot happen with out laying the foundation of your path. So dare to dream while still keeping your feet on the ground. Then you can enjoy the euphoria of your creations.

Whether you are waiting for life to become the wondrous adventure you always dreamed it could be or if you are waiting, struggling, trying to find a deeper, more meaningful purpose in life, this is our human experience that we can choose every day. Faith is the perception that allows us to see wholeness within ourselves.

Wherever you direct your life, balance it between your mind and your heart. Trust that you are on the right path to passion and happiness. Take the time to look into the building blocks of your future. Live in hope, not in fear. Expect a miracle.

I will close with this quote from Debbie Ford.
“The quality of our choices will dictate whether we will struggle in frustration or live an extraordinary life- full of our dreams.”

With Love and Light,

Barbara

5 Tips for Overcoming Perfectionism

Stop struggling to be perfect - it’s an unachievable, unhealthy goal! - with these five tips for overcoming perfectionism.

Before the tips, a quip from Erica Jong:

“I went for years not finishing anything,” said Jong, author of Fear of Flying. “Because, of course, when you finish something you can be judged…I had poems that were re-written so many times I suspect it was just a way of avoiding sending them out.”

Perfectionists procrastinate, set themselves up for eating disorders and anxiety attacks, and rarely enjoy success. For more info about perfectionism, click on The Pursuit of Perfect: How to Stop Chasing Perfection and Start Living a Richer, Happier Life by Tal Ben-Shahar, PhD. All Power Comes from Within: Mana

It is the Spirit within us that is the true source and origin of power. We all come from the same place, from the same Spirit, the same Source.

All the power for our lives comes from within us, all the power for change in our lives comes from within us. When we feel weak, helpless, and that others have more power than we do, we are using our power to think that way. Thinking and believing in our weakness is what manifests in our lives as we continue to expend power that attracts people, places, and situations to us and makes them a reality.

When we are healing or helping others, we are helping to stimulate and draw out their power. The recipient of your healing and helping efforts is the true healer who is healing themselves.

Be confident because all power comes from within and you can always trust that you have the power to change what you can change, adapt to what you can't change, and increase your skills with study and practice.

Trust yourself. Trust the power within.

To experience proof of the power within yourself, begin increasing your physical strength and flexibility. Evoke confident feelings by making confident affirmations - go to http://www.passion4living.org/iip for more on how to change your mental patterns and create Instant Inner Power.

Energy Share for Sunday
August 9, 2009

I've found another favorite musician whose music I absolutely love and chose to embed an energy boost in his video. In case you aren't familiar with Ottmar Liebert, he leads an ensemble called Luna Negra ("Black Moon") which has gained popularity performing as a touring band, and recording music albums in a "Nouveau Flamenco" style, mixing elements of flamenco with jazz, bossa nova, Hindu meditation music, and other genres.

I discovered his music 14 years ago a few days before I left Guam permanently to move to Hawaii and it signified a new period and major shift in my life. I have loved his style ever since and I derive enormous pleasure from listening to his cds. What a thrill it was to see him and his group in concert in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Santa Fe, New Mexico.

So today... I share with you this boost to help you remember what you are most passionate about in your life, to be inspired to seek out your passion, and allow yourself to be present and experience joy in the moment. Just be here for a moment, for now is the moment of power.

Enjoy every moment and live the passionate life you intend it to be.

Aloha pumehana (with blessings, love and affection)!

Chocolate Q&A

Here's a response from Dr. Steve Warren to a question of nutritional content of healthy dark chocolate. You can find more research and history on chocolate at his site, www.mydrchocolate.com.

A couple of friends of mine told me about this healthy dark chocolate that is not only rich in nutrients and antioxidants, it is also diabetic friendly and helps contribute to healthy weight control. Being a chocolate lover, I had to check it out for myself and when I found out I could eat this healthy chocolate that is actually good for my teeth and good for my heart, I nearly flipped out. I went to the site and ordered my monthly stash.

Take a tour of My Passion 4 Chocolate, tr.im/mypassion4chocolate...Keep in mind the product listings are RETAIL and NOT WHOLESALE. I'll be hosting a FREE Chocolate Tasting next month. Contact me to find out more:

Q: What vitamins and minerals are in healthy chocolate?
A: Actual percentages change from batch to batch. There is some literature which outlines the main nutrients found in the components of healthy chocolate:

Raw cocoa contains calcium, phosphorus, iron, thiamine (vit B1), riboflavin (vit B2), niacin, nicotinamide (vit B3), pantothenic acid (vit B5), pyridoxine (vit B6), ascorbic acid (vit C), magnesium, copper, zinc, manganese, and vitamin E.

RIBOFLAVIN
It is a vitamin helps with energy production. It is what makes your urine very yellow.

PYRIDOXINE HYDROCHLORIDE
It is a form of vitamin B6. It is a very important vitamin in more than 100 body reactions. It is important in protein metabolism, red blood cell formation, carbohydrate and fat metabolism, neurotransmitter formation, hormone production, and immune function.

ASCORBIC ACID
This is a form of vitamin C. Vitamin C is needed for collagen formation, antioxidant, iron absorption, immune function, and formation of some hormones. Vitamin C needs to be obtained from our diet and cannot be synthesized.

THIAMINE MONONITRATE
It is a form of the vitamin thiamin, which is useful in the metabolism of carbohydrates and BCAAs for energy. It is important for the transmission of nerve impulses and formation of neurotransmitters.

ZINC
It is a mineral required for many body reactions. It stabilizes many cell walls and is involved in many body reactions. It is important for the immune system.

MAGNESIUM OXIDE
Magnesium is vital in building protein, bone metabolism, enzyme actions, muscle contractions, nerve conductions, maintenance of teeth, and helping the heart rhythm.

COPPER
Copper is a helper in many body functions. It helps form collagen and helps repair connective tissues. It is an anti-inflammatory and helps form myelin around nerves. It is an antioxidant along with zinc, SOD (superoxide dismutase), and ceruloplasmin.

PANTOTHENIC ACID
It helps with many body chemical reactions and is very important in the cellular metabolism of carbohydrates and fats to release energy. It is the “antistress” vitamin. It supports the adrenal glands to increase production of cortisone and other adrenal hormones to help counteract stress. It is thought to prevent aging and wrinkles.

MANGANESE
Manganese is used in many body reactions, especially carbohydrate metabolism.

VITAMIN E
It is a fat-soluble antioxidant

CALCIUM
Provides bone and tooth structure, blood clotting, nerve conduction, and is necessary for muscle function.

NIACINAMIDE
It is an active form of the vitamin niacin which helps in many body reactions and is especially important in the metabolism of glucose, amino acids, and fatty acids.
Today my sister, Phebe, and her husband, Eddie celebrated their first year wedding anniversary! Congratulations to the newlyweds...after being together for over 4 years, everyone was thrilled that they chose to marry and share their lives together. I hope to post a few pics of the weekend or maybe a couple from the wedding. Checkout the website I helped put together:
