The Guest House
Jalal ad-Din Rumi

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meaness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain all!
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whomever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

Today I send an energy boost embedded in this beautiful video to help you create some space away from the noisy, frantic world.  Relax, get quiet, and be at peace.  Slow down and reconnect with your inner self.  Reconnect with your breath, your heartbeat, and with Spirit.

The past 2 weeks were a fairly intense period of addressing healing requests with the spiritual realm...so anyone who is facing visitations by curious spirits, attacks by angry ones, and energy vampires...this one's for you.  It can be a challenge doing healing work, particularly in this day and age requiring focus, strength, flexibility and resourcefulness for ourselves and others.  So I honor you for your deep commitment and being part of the share.  I gratefully acknowledge the boost from you.

And on that note, I'd also like to say that humor is a vital element to maintaining your health and perspective on the world.  Add some dance, music, tea and chocolate and all is back in balance again... ^-^  So enjoy the previous posts - my nephews and friend sharing their musical talent, and some great dance choreography.

Live in every moment and celebrate the passionate life you intend it to be.

Aloha pumehana (with blessings, love and affection)!

Where Does the Dance Begin, Where Does It End?

by Mary Oliver

Don't call this world adorable, or useful, that's not it.
It's frisky, and a theater for more than fair winds.
The eyelash of lightning is neither good nor evil.
The struck tree burns like a pillar of gold.
But the blue rain sinks, straight to the
white feet of the trees
whose mouths open.
Doesn't the wind
turning in circles
invent the dance?

Haven't the flowers moved, slowly, across Asia, then Europe,
until at last, now, they shine
in your own yard?
Don't call this world an explanation, or even an education.
When the Sufi poet whirled, was he looking
outward, to the mountains so solidly there
in a white-capped ring, or was he looking
to the center of everything: the seed, the egg, the idea
that was also there,
beautiful as a thumb
curved and touching the finger, tenderly,
little love-ring,
as he whirled,

oh jug of breath,
in the garden of dust?

Today I send to you a very special boost that helps you set in motion the things that you've always wanted to manifest in your life.  To dance with joy just for being alive in this moment.  Dance to the rhythm of your heart and sway to the music of life. I joyfully and gratefully accept the boost from you.

This week we've enjoyed a few days of rain in the Inland Empire of southern California.  It's rare that rain comes and stays around for long and I find it a welcome change.  Rain reminds me of those quiet days in the islands at my grandparents' home.  A certain comforting musical cadence would play out on their tin roof and sing me to sleep.

These days I find myself listening closely to the musical tones of the world around me. The rhythms of the car as it travels on the road, the shushing sounds of the tree branches as they sway in the wind.  Even as we rush along in our daily rituals, there is always room to breathe, listen, dance...and sleep.

Enjoy the previous posts and thanks so much for all you do as healers and being part of the share.  Live in every moment and celebrate the passionate life you intend it to be.

Aloha pumehana (with blessings, love and affection)!

Only love is real empty formless...eternal ...and ever present reality. Full open...grace loving in pure divine goodness...releasing, surrendering, resting... The death of the known...the rebirth of the eternal. feeling all...letting all...safe in knowing the empty.

by rysa5

Today I send you an energy boost to fill you with hope, love, and compassion. Let us release and surrender ourselves gently to the unconditional and eternal energies of light and love. Release the light within you, expanding ever outward in infinite direction. Energy flows to where our attention goes, so let us freely accept the energy boost without limitation or delay. I celebrate and gratefully embrace the energy boost from you.

Thank you so much for being part of this energy share and enjoy the previous posts. Yesterday was my brother, Tom's birthday so I've posted a little poem in his honor...we don't usually get to celebrate in person with him. But we are always there in spirit.

May you continue to experience the joy of living in the present moment.

A Birthday Poem
by Ted Kooser

Just past dawn, the sun stands
with its heavy red head
in a black stanchion of trees,
waiting for someone to come
with his bucket
for the foamy white light,
and then a long day in the pasture.
I too spend my days grazing,
feasting on every green moment
till darkness calls,
and with the others
I walk away into the night,
swinging the little tin bell
of my name.

Pale Moon Light Pictures, Images and Photos

Enigmas
by Pablo Neruda

You've asked me what the lobster is weaving there
with his golden feet?
I reply, the ocean knows this.

You say, what is the ascidia waiting for in its
transparent bell? What is it waiting for?
I tell you it is waiting for time, like you.

You ask me whom the Macrocystis alga hugs in its arms?
Study, study it, at a certain hour, in a certain sea I know.

You question me about the wicked tusk of the narwhal,
and I reply by describing
how the sea unicorn with the harpoon in it dies.

You enquire about the kingfisher's feathers,
which tremble in the pure springs of the southern tides?

Or you've found in the cards a new question touching on
the crystal architecture
of the sea anemone, and you'll deal that to me now?

You want to understand the electric nature of
the ocean spines?

The armored stalactite that breaks as it walks?

The hook of the angler fish, the music stretched out
in the deep places like a thread in the water?

I want to tell you the ocean knows this, that life in its
jewel boxes
is endless as the sand,
impossible to count,
pure,
and among the blood-colored grapes time has
made the petal
hard and shiny, made the jellyfish full of light
and untied its knot, letting its musical threads fall
from a horn of plenty made of infinite mother-of-pearl.

I am nothing but the empty net which has gone on ahead
of human eyes,
dead in those darknesses,
of fingers accustomed to the triangle,
longitudes on the timid globe of an orange.

I walked around as you do,
investigating the endless star,
and in my net, during the night, I woke up naked,
the only thing caught, a fish trapped inside the wind.

TROPICAL ANIMATED WATER SCENE Pictures, Images and Photos

Like The Water
by Wendell Berry
Like the water
of a deep stream,
love is always too much.
We did not make it.
Though we drink till we burst,
we cannot have it all,
or want it all.
In its abundance
it survives our thirst.

In the evening we come down to the shore
to drink our fill,
and sleep,
while it flows
through the regions of the dark.
It does not hold us,
except we keep returning to its rich waters
thirsty.

We enter,
willing to die,
into the commonwealth of its joy.

Cool Breeze Pictures, Images and Photos

There are no compassionate words strong enough to hold our suffering hearts in the face of death. It is the loving intention beneath the words, running through them, that forms the net for our falling hearts.

Even as we tumble to the depths of despair, we are caught in the net of compassion. There are those who love us as we have loved. There are those who have suffered loss as we do. Every love is unique and individual. Every loss is personal and particular.

Yet the great web of life embraces one and all. Our suffering is a known suffering. Our healing is an eventuality toward which all the Universe tends.

As we enter the portals of grief, we are met by the understanding of the ages. Birth, love and death are landmarks of the human condition. As I open my heart to accept the reality of a beloved's passing, I open my heart to my own humanity.

Rather than isolate myself, feeling somehow special in my grief, I choose to see that my sorrow is the sorrow of the ages - poignant, personal and particular, yet universal in nature.

Today, I accept my tears of grief as the life-giving rain that fosters new growth. Even in the face of death itself, I feel the resiliency of life moving me inexorably onward to greater good.

by Julia Cameron, "Transitions: Prayers and Declarations for a Changing Life"

In light of the recent natural disasters and human tragedies, I wanted to share some inspired writing by Julia Cameron.  The pain of loss can be staggering.  When those of us are struck down by grief and longing, it is difficult to cope and even more difficult to imagine life regaining its sweetness.  So let us take care in a time of mourning and choose to see sorrow as poignant, personal and particular, yet universal in nature.

So today I send you an energy boost to fill you with hope, love, and compassion, remembering to treat ourselves gently.  Remember that to have love and compassion for others we must first begin with ourselves. Let us focus on the present moment and find delight in the small treasures of the day.

Thank you so much for being the wonderful and beautiful beings that you are and being part of this energy share. I celebrate and gratefully embrace the energy boost from you.

As you know  dance and music are for me the expressions of the heart and soul...and this week is no exception.  Along with my 2 cents about the wonderful gatherings of  healing practitioners.

May you continue to experience the joy of living in the present moment.

Aloha pumehana (with blessings, love and affection),

Awesome Turnouts for Mingling of the Healing Arts and the Corona Health & Fitness Expo!

I'm thrilled to report that both events had generated tremendous interest and attention for both the Salus Per Aquam holistic healing spa and the consulting practitioners (including myself).

Mingling of the Healing Arts, Wednesday, Sept 30th
This week was our first monthly Mingling of the Healing Arts group meeting and we had an excellent turnout!  Funny that none of the people that RSVP'd came, but there were lots of unexpected guests from a variety of professional complementary medical disciplines.

Which made for interesting and informative introductions and conversation that went on for over 3 hours!  The previous incarnation of a gathering of this kind was Mingling of the Minds and that had smaller attendance numbers.  So this is definitely exciting and a thrilling prospect for next month.

A speaker was chosen at random from our group for October's meeting who will be giving a talk on aromatherapy.  More details to follow.

Corona Public Library Health & Fitness Expo
Thanks to the help of our transport assistant, Ray, we arrived early for setup.  And even before the official start of the event there were people roaming around the outside booths and inside the lobby.  Don't know the exact number but the room was filled to capacity and we got lots of visitors.

Door prizes were offered by all the members of the expo...dental, chiropractic, massage therapy, acupuncture, holistic healing, reiki and aromatherapy (that's me)...

The door prize I was giving away was a Reiki and Aromatherapy session accompanied by an ionized water foot bath and Lavender essential oil.  The winner would get to come in for a foot bath then receive a relaxing and healing session from me.

At my booth I was featuring a free mini session of Reiki and aromatherapy, and an introduction to healthy dark chocolate.

I was very pleased at the number of people who want to know more about relieving stress and improving health and sat down with me to inhale some essential oils while I did my 5 minutes with them...

It's time that California's Inland Empire is exposed to and educated about complementary and alternative healing modalities and that living healthy is vital to dealing with everyday stresses.  Each person needs to be an active participant with their own health and partner with compassionate complementary health practitioners.  I'm just thrilled to be doing my part.

So I invite anyone who is doing any complementary healing practice to join us at our next Mingling of the Healing Arts on the last Wednesday of the month, October 28th at 6pm.

Join me and our Mingling of the Healing Arts group on Facebook and be part of this growing movement of wellness and healthy living education and empowerment.
