From wheelchairs to walking — with stem cells

I want to share a recent message from Dr. Al Sears.  I'm subscribed to his email newsletter and have been trying to get access to stem cell treatment for some time now...

Dear Lydia,
A 71-year-old woman who could only move her left thumb after suffering a devastating stroke is now walking again after undergoing a stem cell procedure.
The woman was part of a stem cell study done on stroke victims at Stanford University — and she wasn’t the only one whose life was completely changed by the treatment…
Two other patients also got up out of their wheelchairs and started walking again.
In total, 18 stroke survivors who thought they’d be paralyzed for the rest of their lives experienced what Stanford researchers are calling “remarkable” recoveries. Most have regained almost FULL mobility.1
The researchers admit they were “stunned” by the results.
That’s because they fly in the face of everything mainstream medicine will tell you about recovering from a stroke.
You see, most doctors believe it’s pointless to continue therapy if a patient hasn’t seen any improvement six months after their stroke.
But here’s the thing…
All of the patients in the study had passed the critical six-month mark. Some had a stroke as many as THREE YEARS before.
This is one of the most amazing examples of the healing power of stem cells that I’ve heard of. But I’m not surprised.
And it’s such a simple procedure…
The Stanford researchers harvested stem cells from adult donors and injected them into damaged areas of the stroke victims’ skulls. The patients returned home the same day with only a slight headache.
And most started to show improvement within the first 24 hours.
What is stem cell therapy?
Stem cell procedures were once controversial. But I want to be clear: the stem cells used today are NOT the “embryonic” stem cells used years ago in research. We’ve since learned that one of the best places to get stem cells is actually from your own fat tissue.
You’re born with a reserve of “replacement cells” — or stem cells. They’re your body’s master cells. You can use them to replace any cell that’s damaged or dying.
When they’re deployed, stem cells heal and regenerate the tissue or organ they’re assigned to, and can help you make stunning recoveries.
The “secret weapons” inside stem cells that makes this possible are tiny proteins called growth factors.
Human growth factors are cellular messengers that send signals to activate the production of new cells, or to instruct a cell to create new cells with different functions. This special signaling mechanism is what triggers the healing power of these cells.
If you’re interested in learning about the stem cell treatment options available at the Sears Institute for Anti-Aging Medicine, please call my staff at 561-784-7852.
In the meantime, here are five ways you can increase your body’s production of stem cells right now…
  1. Practice Tai Chi. This ancient Chinese martial art has been practiced for over 3,000 years. But only recently have scientists realized that this self-paced system of slow, gentle stretching can increase your number of stem cells in your body as you get older.2 These stem cells, called CD34 cells, are produced deep in your bone marrow.
  2. Eat blue-green algae. Blue-green algae is one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet. There are two kinds, spirulina and a variety known as AFA. Researchers at the University of South Florida found that the AFA variety can greatly increase the production of human stem cells in bone marrow.3 AFA is available as a supplement or a powder and can be found online. I recommend 800 mg a day.
  3. Eat more seaweed. Seaweed contains an important molecule calledfucoidan. This compound increases the release of adult stem cells into the bloodstream.4 It also helps mobilize those stem cells so they can travel to the parts of the body that need repair and renewal. Fucoidan is found primarily in brown seaweed and makes a delicious salad. You can also purchase supplements online. I suggest 400 mg a day.
  4. Add carnosine. I recommend getting 1,000 mg of carnosine every day. Grass-fed, pasture-raised meat is the best way to get carnosine from food. A typical 7-ounce serving of beef has about 250 mg of carnosine. If you can’t get enough by eating red meat, I recommend you supplement with natural L-carnosine. Take 500 mg twice a day.
  5. Fast for two days every six months.  Periodic calorie restriction — no food for two days every six months — kills older, damaged stem cells and generates new ones.5 This is a technique I’ve used for years to jumpstart the healing and rejuvenation process.
To Your Good Health,
Al Sears, MD

Here's a great introduction to practicing Tai Chi movement by using a ball in both hands to demonstrate how the body moves and flows with energy.  Years ago I practiced with some of Terry Dunn's videos while I was training at the White Birch School of Traditional Martial Arts in northern Virginia, and he has some great introductory videos on Yang Style tai chi:

I love this collaboration of taiko drumming, wushu and tai chi performance, especially to see young talent moving with speed, agility, and grace. All movement is dance, the drums beating rhythmically in concert and syncopation with the forms, uniting contemporary and traditional styles.

Each year DANCE This brings together more than 200 young artists (ages 13-22) from diverse communities and backgrounds for intensive dance training, collaboration and performances that share diverse cultures through the art of dance.

DANCE THIS 2009 FINALE

I love watching young artists in training! I came upon this performance finale which brought together groups of diverse ethnic backgrounds and performance styles. Nice the way the show ended with a dance tribute to Michael Jackson.

Produced for the Seattle Theatre Group, DANCE This is a young artist training and performance program in cross cultural and contemporary dance. Each year DANCE This brings together more than 200 young artists (ages 13-22) from diverse communities and backgrounds for intensive dance training, collaboration and performances that share diverse cultures through the art of dance.

This is the defining statement of the meaning of living in the present and the basis of the Power of Now and every spiritual practice and philosophy.

The past is just a memory; a history which can be changed and often is.  It  can also represent either the greatest inhibitor to success or the magnificent foundation to it.  Thoughts, beliefs, and ideas that either were either passed on or created may engender confidence, courage, excitement, joy, fulfillment or anxiety, worry, fear, doubt, and anger....The future doesn't exist yet...created and molded by what you do now.

So let yourself release emotional attachments to negative experiences from the past.  When you recall these memories, use a meditative exercise that helps you to release any pain from them, remembering that you have the power to change your thoughts and beliefs at any time.

Adopt a daily regimen to practice the meditative exercise, or any physical activity that calms the mind and puts you in a reflective state.  Imagine and speak to yourself a vision of what you have always wanted in your life.  Imagine and feel what it would be like to achieve that vision, however small or large.  Then imagine and act on any small step which you can immediately accomplish.  Once achieved, then joyfully acknowledge them.  Keep a daily log of those achievements and 5 things you have experienced which you are grateful for.  This is your journey towards a future of your own making.

Energy healing and aromatherapy are excellent complements for any medical therapy and greatly enhances recovery from injury and illness. Physical and/or mental and emotional issues can be aided with complementary and alternative healing modalities, although be sure to communicate your intentions with a licensed medical practitioner.

Energy Share for Sunday
September 20, 2009

Today I send you an energy boost to fill you with angelic light, wholeness, and peace.  To heal hurts and wounds, follow our special perceptions as we are guided by the sounds of angelic vibrations, and experience the illumination of our divine blueprint. Our understanding of angelic energies is part of our move from the third dimension to the fourth and fifth dimensions. The angels enable us to understand the movement of energy from duality to wholeness as part of the changing times we are in. The angels are the connecting energies between God and our selves. If the angels are energy, then we can transform our own energy by focusing on their forms and how we each as individuals relate to them.

Thank you so much for being the wonderful and beautiful beings that you are and being part of this energy we share. My heart, mind and spirit celebrates and embraces the boost from you.

Let us continue to live with purpose, passion and compassion...for ourselves and with each other.  For me, dance and music are the expressions of the heart and soul...so enjoy the previous posts.  May you continue to experience and appreciate the joy of living in the present moment.

Aloha pumehana (with blessings, love and affection),

Lydia

Getting Past the Con

Yesterday I was about to post my status on MySpace and checkout my financial accounts...and made the shocking discovery that things were continuing to spiral from bad to worse this past week. My debit card was stolen and my account drained of $500. And I know now that the person who took my card is the same one who stole money from me this past weekend...which turned out to be my personal caregiver, Deborah...she just lied to my face, cheated me and stole from me...!

The drama started up again yesterday morning with phone calls to report my stolen card, no ride to work, and no money. What do I do after that????

Well, I do what I can do.... first, place my name on some healing lists and, second, do healing for myself. And after letting myself vent about it for a while, I'm ready to move on....

But what may appear to be a bad thing could actually be a good thing, a blessing...Were these events really a bad thing?

I'm glad the truth came out much sooner than later and I wasn't physically harmed in the course of being robbed. I've been relieved of what could have potentially been a far more expensive, dangerous and traumatic incident(s). A fearful, angry, and desperate person will be quick to act on his/her desperation when they give in to their belief of lack, filling themselves with visions of loss and abandonment, possibly even remembering pain from such experiences in the past.

Lesson learned? Be careful and discerning of the people you allow into your inner circle. They can either create conflict and drama and drag you down or enlighten and uplift you with joyful harmony. Choose to believe in the latter within yourself and others...like attracts like and you'll get to live in and with mutually synchronistic relationships...

The drama is over now.

Compassion and forgiveness are key now for Deborah's own sake as well as mine to heal and bring about a peaceful resolution to this abrupt end. It's not surprising that this is the path she's chosen to walk down for now...Deborah is on Social Security and her income was cut by over $250 in the past month or so, right after she moved out on her own into a new apartment.

So I wish her well and pray that she will soon return to her Christian faith...and remember to recognize and embrace the abundance and love of God that has always existed in her life.

Experience has taught me to move quickly beyond such things and letting go of them. I let myself experience the emotional pain and speak about it to release it completely from myself and replace it with peaceful harmony....heal, meditate, breathe...then it's gone....and onto healthier and happier times.

Years ago i was so highly intuitive I didn't know how to shield and separate myself from others' fears and pains. I would get thrown so off-balance to the point of illness and from what I understand, that's not so uncommon for intuitives. But I'm a born optimist and have learned to follow the Inner Voice to a T by channeling my energies into more peaceful, productive and happier endeavors.

If anyone's heard of Palau or Guam, you'll probably hear about the frequent and intense, sometimes catastrophic typhoons. So we learn to be prepared for the worst but expect the best, and appreciate the blessings of clean water, working electricity and communal support.

You learn of the ephemeral nature of superficial material things and status...

Growing up in Palau as a kid, most folks lived in wooden houses with tin roofs, outhouses, outdoor showers or communal baths. But we lived richly and abundantly from the land and ocean...I grew up never witnessing hunger or homelessness, experiencing only the loving kindness of a large, extended family.

Energy Share for Sunday

September 6, 2009

I've so enjoyed this particular video meditation and it pretty much sums up what we are about and how we choose to live our lives. And let us continue to be the beautiful and unique expressions of Divine Love for ourselves and the planet.

I've embedded the energy boost in this video so it activates the moment you play it. Imagine the boost surrounding you with harmonious love, light and serenity. I know I really needed a boost to get me through this past week. And especially in dealing with the burglary in my home...while I was sleeping! But I'm grateful that no harm came to me and measures will be taken to improve security at the house. You can read my previous post about it.

I'm sure you'll feel my deep and abiding gratitude for the energy we share. My heart, mind and spirit embraces the boost from you.

Let us continue to be passionate about life and live with purpose and harmony. Allow yourself to be fully present and experience joy in the moment.

Aloha pumehana (with blessings, love and affection),

All Power Comes from Within: Mana

It is the Spirit within us that is the true source and origin of power. We all come from the same place, from the same Spirit, the same Source.

All the power for our lives comes from within us, all the power for change in our lives comes from within us. When we feel weak, helpless, and that others have more power than we do, we are using our power to think that way. Thinking and believing in our weakness is what manifests in our lives as we continue to expend power that attracts people, places, and situations to us and makes them a reality.

When we are healing or helping others, we are helping to stimulate and draw out their power. The recipient of your healing and helping efforts is the true healer who is healing themselves.

Be confident because all power comes from within and you can always trust that you have the power to change what you can change, adapt to what you can't change, and increase your skills with study and practice.

Trust yourself. Trust the power within.

To experience proof of the power within yourself, begin increasing your physical strength and flexibility. Evoke confident feelings by making confident affirmations - go to http://www.passion4living.org/iip for more on how to change your mental patterns and create Instant Inner Power.

Aloha: To Love is to be Happy With (someone/something)

Love is the source of power, so enjoy & appreciate all the good things you can find. Including all the good experiences you've ever had, no matter how small; all the skills you've ever learned; all the beauty and wonder you discover in the world around you everyday; all the good that you see and hear about that others do; and all that you want to experience in the future.

Allow yourself to experience pleasure, experience happiness with passion, excitement, enthusiasm and contentment.

Allow yourself to receive and experience blessings - compliments, praise, gratitude, appreciation.

The Power of Blessing is so simple you might think it's too easy to be true. But the loving use of this incredible Power is the secret for attaining true health, happiness, prosperity and success.

Bless everyone and everything that represents what you want.

Blessing creates a positive focus in your mind stirring up the creative Power of the Universe (God/Spirit/Source), moves your energy outward allowing more Power to come through you, and bypasses any subconscious fear about what you want for yourself.

Light Prayer

Oh Light of spirit,
awaken inner divinty,
love ALL as One,
endless infinity.

Oh Light of Healing,
inspire the soul,
self-less Compassion,
healing Earth.

Oh Light of Love,
encircle all creation,
meld ALL as ONE,
heart-felt vibration.

Oh Angel of Light,
reunite our Heart,
sacred Ascension,
focus intention.

By dragonflyslight, Music by Enya-Ask The Mountains.

I've embedded the energy boost within this music video. Let it transport you beyond the stress of daily challenges and replenish you like a cool glass of water. I embrace the boost from you with humble gratitude.

Thanks so much for all you do as healers and friends. Checkout the previous posts...you'll like Steve Rother's channel on family...and boy, Have I been locked in good! Mostly good...some totally joyful and memorable... and others I'd rather not think about... but those times do help me remember how to respond in as discerning, forgiving and responsible way as possible with respect for myself and others.

Enjoy every moment and live the passionate life you intend it to be.

Aloha pumehana (with blessings, love and affection)!

Instant Manifestation: How to Get Things Fast

Datta talks about how civilization and human evolution are moving faster and reveals a powerful Sun/Moon yoga technique that allows you enter into a timeless zone where manifestation takes place. Instant manifestation is possible because manifestation occurs in a zone of no time; time is not involved in manifestation at all.

The Word

The word was born
in the blood,
it grew in the dark body, pulsing,
and took flight with the lips and mouth.

Farther away and nearer,
still, still it came
from dead fathers and from wandering races,
from territories that had become stone,
that had tired of their poor tribes,
because when grief set out on the road
the people went and arrived
and united new land and water
to sow their word once again.

And that's why the inheritance is this:
this is the air that connects us
with the buried man and with the dawn
of new beings that haven't yet arisen.

By Pablo Neruda

An excerpt from 'Full Woman, Fleshly Apple, Hot Moon'
Translated by Stephen Mitchell

It's another sunny weekend and I've sent to you an energy boost in the spirit of love and unity. To help you experience the unconditional love that comes to you at every moment; the blessings, beauty and joy with yourself and with others.

Yesterday we had a large church gathering of Palauans who arrived from parts of northern California, San Diego and Arizona. In anticipation of the numbers of folks converging on our small town of Moreno Valley, my male relatives were barbequing for nearly 24 hours straight! You can imagine the feast we enjoyed together on the rare occasion such as this. The theme of the church program was "Love and Unity" which started off with the music ministry of San Diego - folks from the Marshall Islands and Chuuk of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). The FSM is a collective group of Micronesian islands which is afforded U.S. citizenship and is separate from the Republic of Palau and Guam.

It was a poignant theme when one of the speakers sadly pointed out that 30% of prison inmates in Hawai'i were Micronesian and are usually arrested due to cross-cultural misunderstandings. Nearly 60% have already migrated away from the FSM. They come to the States for better medical care but are already dying out from radiogenic birth defects and cancer resulting from the nuclear bomb testing there in post WWII.

Thanks so much for all you do as healers and friends. Checkout the previous posts...you know me, gotta love the hula! E hula mai (Let's Dance)!

Enjoy every moment and live the passionate life you intend it to be.

Aloha pumehana (with blessings, love and affection)!

The Truth About Using the Think Right Now!
Accelerated Success Conditioning Programs

You Can Change Your Thoughts!

Have you tried all the how-to books, seminars, gadgets, pills, powders and motivational tapes, but still haven't broken the bad habit or can hardly keep up the good one?

And you don't regularly feel the thrill of accomplishment and peace of mind it should bring?

What if you haven't defined and committed to reaching your purpose? Well, it's time to change how you think!

Think Right Now! audio programs bring about life-enhancing, permanent changes, not by giving you more information to absorb then dump it all out of your head within a week, but by changing the person you are from the inside-out.

Here's My Personal Review and Experience of the Instant Inner Power and Think Right Now! Programs:

The Think Right Now! Self Hypnosis CD Programs are all about the power of the conscious mind and using it as a powerful tool to reprogram your subconscious mind. By installing empowering mental patterns, one can begin changing their beliefs and personal habits and directly influence the direction of their lives in a more positive way.

I discovered the Instant Inner Power website a couple of years after I became paralyzed in 2003 from spinal radiation treatment for Non-Hodgkins' Lymphoma. I had become hugely disappointed by the medical and governmental bureaucracy that prevented me from getting the critically needed therapy to walk again. And I was struggling financially with the disability money I received to pay off medical bills, student loans, and credit card debt. I read Mike Brescia's personal story and was hopeful that his programs could help me through this personal crisis.

Although I was a trained Reiki practitioner and I understood the nature of being grateful for personal challenges, I was, and still am, always open to other complementary therapies that can help me improve my coping skills and keep me mentally healthy. I needed a way to keep myself from sinking into depression and completely giving up on life. I didn't look for a nearby hula school or tai chi instructor, the 2 passions that always kept me going in the past...dance, music...keeping mentally and physically adept. I had even stopped practicing Reiki and meditation. I was just too overwhelmed.

My Cost:

I paid $23.97 for the "I am Healed Now!" CD and
the "Financial Abundance Now!" for $47.97. About a few months later I ordered the desktop program which had around 40 different scripts that ran in the background. Mike Brescia and his website always offered discounts and free CDs, including freebies for anyone who would report results of their experience.

Here's What I Experienced:

Within a month it seemed like a veil had lifted - I felt my mind was clearer, I got back to self-healing with Reiki and not only diminished my discomfort with the side effects of medication, I found the best herbal replacement, and I became more assertive about treating my health with doctors and agencies.

Your thoughts and beliefs create your reality. So when you start experiencing positive changes in your life - healthier attitudes, a healthier body, healthy friends and relationships, improving finances - you no longer resist them and your gratitude and confidence increases .

Is it worth the Cost?

Absolutely! How can you live in a completely healthy and prosperous way and put a price tag on that? The Instant Inner Power programs empower your mind and if you work at it you can eliminate worry, anxiety, depression, anger and even a total lack of motivation. If you can't afford one-on-one sessions with a hypnotherapist, psychotherapist, or personal life coach, start with one of the Think Right Now! programs.

Pros:

Once I started playing a CD or ran the desktop software, I could relax and let myself be open to the empowering statements. I didn't have to think about what was running through my head.

With the desktop version, you can modify the script files or even create one of your own. The software is very easy to use.

Cons:

Because the CDs are prescripted, the "I Am Healed Now!" felt rather generic and not necessarily specific to my own issues. I mean, who knew a Reiki healer would be listening to these CDs? So I was much more satisfied with the desktop scripts which I could easily modify or create.

The spiritual force transcends all.

I feel this great creative and spiritual force within me
that is greater than faith,
greater than ambition,
greater than confidence,
greater than determination,
greater than vision.

It is all these combined.

My brain becomes magnetized
with this dominating force
which I hold in my hand.

Bruce Lee Quotes from "Striking Thoughts"
