Kumu hula, singer-songwriter Kealiʻi Reichel performs his mele "Maunaleo" at the Hawaiʻi Theatre in Honolulu as part of Kūkahi ʻ99. Written in honor of his mother, Kealiʻi compares her strength and lasting beauty to Maunaleo, a peak alongside Iao Valley on Maui.
