When I look at photos of my first Reiki Master attunement, the world comes to a halt and, for what seems a very long time, pauses while I am taken back to the White Garden.

There my friends, Kay (left) and Mary (right) experienced a truly transcendent Master attunement. My first Reiki teacher, Judy Oliver, created this experience when she took us to the Buddhist Meditation Gardens in Poolesville, Maryland.

Take a look at the massive crystal which was at the center of the White Garden.

We enjoyed walking through all the flower gardens after the attunement and sat quietly in the rest stops. Should you ever be in Maryland, I highly recommend going to the Buddhist center and checkout the gardens across the way. The walking path is designed as a square surrounding the gardens and makes for a uniquely enjoyable meditative journey.

Here's Judy and her son, Stevie, taken a few years ago. They often hosted their friends' pets, as a temporary hostel while their owners were away.
