Hi Lydia

Ah, yes. I remember it well. In April of '93, I had just gotten back from a glorious two weeks traveling all around Italy. Venice, Florence, Pisa, Rome, Genoa, Naples. Mamma Mia!

We didn't make it to Brescia, but it was still a magnificent time. We stayed in some of the finest hotels. Met a boatload of relatives from "the old country" for the first time. I felt like I was on a movie studio lot instead of in some of the most beautiful places in the world. The Leaning Tower, the Colosseum, The Vatican, the Grand Canal, the ruins of Pompeii.
It was a fantasy come true.

When I got back, I was energized. Seeing such incredible sights and feeling the history, I wanted to make a greater impact on people. And make no mistake, the greatest way to make a difference, is to make sure people have the information and products/services they need to make their lives better.

At the time, I was in the hearing instrument field. So I pulled out a notebook of people who, over the last few months, I'd met with but who didn't get our Siemens hearing aids for
whatever reason. Well, most of them, I presumed, still couldn't hear for beans, so it was time to change that. I put together an offer and identified everyone I wanted to contact.

Then, I'll never forget it - it was a Saturday and Sunday - I dialed and talked and paced... in my living room. For two straight days I lived on the phone. And for the next three
weeks, I went on all the appointments I set up. By the time the three weeks was up, I had fit 44 people (that has to be a record) with the finest hearing instruments on the planet and
got more heartfelt thanks (with many tears) and more personal satisfaction than I had felt, maybe ever.
That is what helping people help themselves does. Satisfaction. And... it ain't too bad on the pocket book, either.

Remember this always:

Help others, feel great, help yourself.

Sc.rew others, feel like sh.t, sc.rew yourself.
