Hello,

I've seen this question come in quite a few times, so I'm sure there are many people wondering about it...:

Hi Jeffery

...you may be able to help me with something. When I was first attuned, some time back now, my energy was very high. When I used it on myself I could really feel it. Now it seems non existent and it makes me reluctant to want to use it on others as I feer they may think I'm doing nothing. Why has it diminished? Or at least seems it has done so?

Fond Blessings

Hello Mickie,

In my opinion there are simple and more complex answers to this question. The more complex answer is that our brains have an orienting reflex and look for differences. Over time, when something is not a threat for example, as it becomes clear to the brain that something does not need to be attended to...it often fades into the background. I suspect that these types of standard brain mechanisms are responsible for things like this involving Reiki.

A simpler/different way of looking at this from an energetic standpoint is that we acclimate to the new level of energy. Where there isn't a differential, we don't feel anything. Consider the way a full emersion float tank works for sensory deprivation.

Because the water is the same temperature as our body, we don't feel the boundary between the two. When we're first attuned to Reiki, its new. There is a differential. It's as if the body is one temperature and the water is a different temperature. Over time we 'become Reiki' more and more, and this differential disappears.

Now, the tricky aspect of this is that without use Reiki can atrophy. So if you don't use it much, you might not feel it when you go to use it not because you've become acclimated to it, but
rather because it really is a weak connection for you. Reiki is definitely meant to be used!

There are many ways to sense the energy once this acclamation process takes place, and you can change these with intent. For example, when I was first attuned people complained about the heat coming from my hands. I was even burned a little once by one of my fingernails when I laid my hand over it. At that time I communicated my desire to feel the energy in another way, and it switched to tingling. This has been great because I can feel the differences in types of energy based on the intensity, rate, and texture of the tingling sensation in my hands.

I also know many people who noticed that the background ringing in their ears attenuated to the energy, and who use this method of intuition when healing. Like many others, I feel whole body
sensations and energetic movements when I work on people that allows me to know more about what's going on. I've seen so many subtle ways for this information to be communicated as I've taught people and worked with them over the years.

If you are not feeling the energy the way you used to, but are working with it and don't think it has atrophied, try to pay close attention to the types of things I mention during your next session. There's almost always something that you can pick up on. And, once you've identified it you can typically count on it being a doorway to many others that will help you monitor what is going on with the session.

All My Love,
Jeffery
