Where Does the Dance Begin, Where Does It End?
by Mary Oliver
Don't call this world adorable, or useful, that's not it.
It's frisky, and a theater for more than fair winds.
The eyelash of lightning is neither good nor evil.
The struck tree burns like a pillar of gold.
The eyelash of lightning is neither good nor evil.
The struck tree burns like a pillar of gold.
But the blue rain sinks, straight to the
white feet of the trees
whose mouths open.
white feet of the trees
whose mouths open.
Doesn't the wind
turning in circles
invent the dance?
turning in circles
invent the dance?
Haven't the flowers moved, slowly, across Asia, then Europe,
until at last, now, they shine
in your own yard?
until at last, now, they shine
in your own yard?
Don't call this world an explanation, or even an education.
When the Sufi poet whirled, was he looking
outward, to the mountains so solidly there
in a white-capped ring, or was he looking
to the center of everything: the seed, the egg, the idea
that was also there,
beautiful as a thumb
curved and touching the finger, tenderly,
little love-ring,
as he whirled,
oh jug of breath,
in the garden of dust?

Today I send to you a very special boost that helps you set in motion the things that you've always wanted to manifest in your life. To dance with joy just for being alive in this moment. Dance to the rhythm of your heart and sway to the music of life. I joyfully and gratefully accept the boost from you.
This week we've enjoyed a few days of rain in the Inland Empire of southern California. It's rare that rain comes and stays around for long and I find it a welcome change. Rain reminds me of those quiet days in the islands at my grandparents' home. A certain comforting musical cadence would play out on their tin roof and sing me to sleep.
These days I find myself listening closely to the musical tones of the world around me. The rhythms of the car as it travels on the road, the shushing sounds of the tree branches as they sway in the wind. Even as we rush along in our daily rituals, there is always room to breathe, listen, dance...and sleep.

Enjoy the previous posts and thanks so much for all you do as healers and being part of the share. Live in every moment and celebrate the passionate life you intend it to be.
Aloha pumehana (with blessings, love and affection)!
