Take All Your Medicine

Have you ever gotten some kind of infection and had to take some penicillin or an antibiotic? What do they tell you? Take this until it's all gone.

Why do you need to take it all?

Because our bodies need a HIGH ENOUGH concentration of the infection killing ingredients LONG ENOUGH to kill the infection. Simple, right? Without enough medicine long enough, you stay infected. The symptoms start all over again in a week or two or three. So, what do we do then? Right. Back to the doctor to get more medicine. And what do they tell us again? Right. Take it all.

In our everyday life, it's not a physical infection that sucks all the joy out and makes being a high achiever impossible, it's bad news, it's stewing about what isn't perfect, worrying, criticism, short deadlines, bullies, flat tires, getting shot at as you walk home, losing someone close to you. It's the daily news on TV, in magazines, on radio, in the newspaper. And it has the power to create negative stress in our bodies that wear us down.

Most people, yes, most - 90+% - ALLOW this inner (from thoughts) and outer stress (from circumstances outside their control) to crush their enthusiasm for achievement and their potential. I was controlled by it, too. And if you are failing or feel unable to handle what comes your way or to grow, this is why.

How can I say this? Because research has led me to know that unless there is a situation where the architecture of the brain isn't normal (and I'm not referring to ADD or ADHD where good mental training and/or diet can take care of most cases), then just like an infection of the body, you can kill the stress by putting in a cure.

Positive information. Education. Knowledge. Understanding the principles of success at anything. Keep enough of it going in and do it long enough, while eliminating the stressors (the easiest is to avoid watching or reading the daily headlines - they're all bad - and if you believe that you MUST read the bad news, try not reading it for a week and let me know how you feel.

You will still need to keep putting in the "nuts and bolts" information. It's great to believe you can reach your goal(s), for example. But you may still need to know a lot more than you currently do in order to succeed.

That is why it is important that you command yourself about DOING what you must, LOVING doing what you must and before you can love doing it, simply being aware of what you COULD love if you where aware of it.

A great life isn't just going to be handed to you or to anyone. Achievements aren't handed out like gifts for turning another year older. They must be earned.

Mental strain and physical drain come from frustration... frustration at being busy yet feeling like you are "not getting anywhere."

That's true. I mean, have you ever won a game where there were spectators cheering for you? You might have worked your butt off for an 1-3 hours, but afterward you usually don't go to sleep. No. You are pumped up. Energized. You party. Even though you "left yourself out on the field." You are not drained because you are not frustrated. You won.

So if you want to get rid of the blues and frustration and worry in your life, notice what is good. Even if you lose at something, notice what went right. Learn how to avoid what went wrong. Spend time doing what you love to do. Make it your career. And learn how to succeed. And do more of what creates your success.

That will help you avoid slumps and get out of them if you are in one. Just keep doing what you did when you were happy and successful. Simple, right?

Yes, it is.

It is going to be a great week for you.

Yes, it is.
